- Jelena Vermilion is a transgender internationally-acclaimed kinaesethetic artist, model, sex worker and activist. Based out of Hamilton Ontario, Vermilion has served as the Hamilton delegate for the Industrial Workers of the World and has served as the Executive Director of Sex Workers Action Program Hamilton. Vermilion has appeared in documentaries including: Translating Beauty and Surviving the Block. She has been interviewed by Vice.com, CBC, The Silhouette, Flare, Global News, CityNews Winnipeg, The National Post, The Globe and Mail, CTV News and more. Vermilion was nominated in 2017 and 2018 for the Transgender Erotica Awards. In 2018, Vermilion received the Award for Best DVD. Vermilion has a column entitled Beyond Barriers featured in Transformation Magazine.
